Deriva takes its name from the seafaring term for drifting, when a vessel surrenders to the waves and the currents, moving without a set course. Paolo and Tiziana imagined this uncontrolled motion as a metaphor for the human soul: moments of complete surrender, when we let go of control and allow life’s currents to carry us. At times, drifting is serene, with calm waters and gentle sun, while at others it is wild and exhilarating, swept by the winds of the storm. Aboard the Telea, far from the shore and enveloped by the infinite blue, one experiences this duality of tranquility and exhilaration—the unpredictable rhythm of the sea mirrored in the heart. Deriva is the olfactory translation of this surrender: the freedom of drifting into the unknown, letting life permeate the senses, and embracing desire and passion without resistance. This creation is a journey from playful brightness to deep seduction.
